Jack Edwards is the valedictorian of the inaugural graduating class of Frassati Catholic High School. Jack will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall and will pursue a degree in Engineering.
Community service has been an integral part of Jack’s scholastic career. He served as the pianist for 4 years at weekly Mass at Frassati Catholic High School and also served as pianist for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for the past two years. As an active member of the Student Leadership Team, Jack served the school community and fellow students in many capacities. In the community at large, Jack has also volunteered at several local charities such as Casa Juan Diego and Mercy House Global.
In addition to Student Leadership Team, Jack was named a National Merit Finalist, starred in the school’s first full-scale musical production, played in the instrumental ensemble, joined the first tennis and baseball teams and was a member of National Honor Society. Jack was recently awarded the school’s highest honor as Man of the Beatitudes, received the English Departmental Book Award, made the Principal’s Honor Roll List, and was given a Leadership Award.
Jack hopes that during his time at Notre Dame he will “keep learning throughout my life in order to have a fulfilling and fruitful career. I also hope to discern my specific vocation, and follow that divine plan for my life rather than my own.”
Josh Davidson, salutatorian of the inaugural graduating class of Frassati Catholic High School, will be attending Florida State University in the fall on a full scholarship for diving and academics. Josh will pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
Although Josh spent many hours outside of school diving, he was an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Leadership Team and the Culture of Life Club. Josh enjoyed the service opportunities he shared with his classmates at Reach Unlimited, Casa Juan Diego, and making care packages for the homeless at the Archdiocesan Co-Cathedral. Outside of school, Josh spent many weekends building homes for the disadvantaged through Habitat for Humanity and praying outside of abortion clinics. Josh was recently awarded the Ethics & Culture Departmental Book Award.
According to Josh, “Being a part of the Frassati Founding class has been an incredible circumstantial grace, prompting me to respond to Christ’s love with the biggest ‘YES’ I can muster.”
The future is bright for Josh. In addition to graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, he hopes to qualify for the Olympic Games in 3 meter diving, perform missionary work, and eventually obtain a position as an engineer with an oil and gas firm.
