Daniel Cardinal DiNardo in counsel with Sr. Kevina Keating, the superintendent for Catholic schools in the archdiocese, and in consultation with the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregations, announces the name of the new institution of academic learning in north Houston is Frassati Catholic High School, named after Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.

The board members of North Houston Catholic High School (NHCHS) are proud to announce that the three Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation from Nashville, Tennessee will arrive early August 2011. Sister John Paul, O.P. will serve as principal; Sister Anna Laura, O.P. and Sister Mary Albert, O.P. will design, coordinate and implement the curriculum.

Three Sisters of the Saint Cecilia Congregation visited Houston. They attended the informal tour of the future NHCHS land site on Saturday. They also attended Sunday morning Mass at St. Edward Catholic Church, and went to St. Anne Catholic Church for the Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast.

The Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, Tennessee have accepted Daniel Cardinal DiNardo's invitation to participate in the administration and teaching of the North Houston Catholic High School. The Congregation intends to send three sisters to Houston one year before the school opens to plan the educational program and implement the administrative structure.

Our plan to build a new school has been approved by Cardinal DiNardo in a letter dated October 1. We have a contract to buy a site about 1 mile west of St Edward's Church - 60+ A. We need roughly $5 million to close the contract and pay the development cost. We ask the Holy Spirit to help us find the money. We need the money very soon in order to open in 2010.
