2017-18 Curriculum Guide
An authentic Catholic education is by definition one in which academic excellence is central. At Frassati Catholic High School, we seek to provide a rigorous course of studies for students where they can learn both the joy of intellectual inquiry as well as the perseverance required in true study. As a school infused with the Dominican charism of “Veritas” (truth), Frassati Catholic High School grounds its academic program in the principle that truth can be known and that its pursuit can be a source of exhilaration and joy. Our curriculum is traditional college preparatory rooted in the liberal arts and carries with it high expectations and a challenging work load. While we encourage our students to develop independence and responsibility for their own work as they learn and mature, our teachers are also committed to offering students the individual attention and assistance they need to succeed. The classrooms are a familial place where each student is known by his or her peers and teachers.
At Frassati Catholic High School, we seek to provide a rigorous course of studies for young men and women where they can learn both the joy of intellectual inquiry as well as the perseverance required in true study.
Three levels of classes are offered a Frassati Catholic High School: College Preparatory, Honors, and Advanced Placement. College Preparatory classes are offered for those students performing at grade level in a college preparatory environment. Honors classes are available for students performing above grade level who seek a greater level of challenge and a more demanding workload. Advanced Placement classes are available for those students who wish to undertake a rigorous college-level workload with the hope of gaining college credit. Students in AP courses are required to take examinations given by the College Board in the spring.
